RESOURCES
The Ishami Foundation is currently gathering existing resources and generating new materials to help individuals, schools and communities learn more about survivors’ responses to the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
In this section
In this section of our website you will find:
- Information about Rwanda, the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, rebuilding after genocide and links for further reading
- Discussion of the theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2020 – what does being “torn from home” mean for Rwandans?
- Our 100 Stories for 100 Days project, led by Jo Ingabire Moys with Adam Usden
- A selection of films and video footage featuring our trustees and survivor speakers
Future plans
In future we hope to develop:
- More resources for schools, including lesson plans to support visits from survivor speakers
- More testimonies, owned, edited and managed by survivors themselves, curated by Jo Ingabire Moys
- Guidance on how to organise your own sporting event to promote social cohesion.
If you are able to help us with any of these projects please e-mail: info@ishamifoundation.org
