London Play2Remember (P2R) is the Ishami Foundation’s showcase football tournament of the year, with a clear social goal. P2R gives survivors and friends an opportunity to get together in the spirit of commemoration and hope.

At P2R we remember and honour those who have perished and suffered in genocides, such as the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. P2R is also about looking forward. We recognise that remembrance can be too painful for survivors from countries where mass atrocities continue unabated. For people in the midst of suffering, hope is instrumental for moving forward. This football tournament is an opportunity for the local communities, supporters and sponsors to interact with survivors and learn from their experiences.

Ishami’s objectives for 2019 London Play2Remember are to highlight the current rise in hate speech, discrimination against minorities and anti-Semitism. By coming together as communities to play ‘the beautiful game’, we raise awareness of the ongoing crisis of social and political polarisation which has greatly affected people of all ages, including many young people across the UK.

This year’s London Play2Remember will take place on:
SATURDAY 9 November 2019, from 1-4PM followed by an evening (6-8PM) get together with speeches, film screening with Q&A as well as food and drinks.
Football tournament will take place at:

Club Des Sports,

East Acton Lane

London

W3 7HB

Evening Get together will take place at:

The Hogarth Health Club

Airedale Avenue

Chiswick

London

W4 2NW
